Inspection Services We Offer

NSW PINK SLIP

  • Mandatory e-Safety Check (commonly known as a “Pink Slip”) for motorcycles over 5 years old when renewing registration

  • Conducted by accredited mechanics

  • Valid for 6 months; report submitted electronically to Transport for NSW

  • Covers essential safety items like: lights, brakes, tyre tread, steering, fluid leaks and headset bearings.

NSW Blue Slip

  • Officially called the Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Scheme (AUVIS)

  • Required if your motorcycle has been unregistered for 3+ months, is from interstate/overseas, lacks plates, has a new engine, or has defect notices

  • More rigorous than a pink slip—includes identity checks (VIN, engine number), emissions, and a full mechanical safety review

  • Valid for 42 days to complete registration

VICTORIAN ROADWORTHY (COMING SOON)

  • Also known as a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC), required for used motorcycle registration, interstate transfers, post-unregistration, or when flagged by VicRoads or police

  • Inspection ensures compliance with Victorian Vehicle Standards Information (VSI 4), covering brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension, and frame integrity

  • Issued by licensed vehicle testers and typically valid for 30 days

Frequently asked questions

A Pink Slip is an annual safety inspection required for registered NSW motorcycles over five years old to ensure roadworthiness, whereas a Blue Slip is a more comprehensive check for unregistered motorcycles (such as interstate imports or those unregistered over three months), including identity, design, and safety standards.

Pink Slip inspections generally take around 30 minutes, while Blue Slip inspections are more thorough and typically take between 30 and 60 minutes

If your motorcycle fails either inspection, you’ll receive a fault list and have 14 days to complete repairs and return for a free re‑inspection at the same station—beyond that, a new inspection fee applies—and at Fast Fuel Motorcycles, we’ll also provide a free, no‑obligation quote for any required repairs or alterations.

A Pink Slip (e-Safety Check) costs $28 for motorcycles, while a Blue Slip (AUVIS) inspection is $49, ensuring your bike meets all safety, identity, and compliance standards
